TOOTH COLORED FILLINGS

If you need to have one or more cavities treated, our office is happy to help with tooth-colored fillings.

Unlike traditional fillings, which are made of a combination of metals, tooth-colored fillings can be shaded to match the color of your smile.
What’s more, tooth-colored fillings support the tooth’s natural structure in a way that metal fillings don’t. This makes it a more conservative choice. If you want to learn more about the cosmetic and restorative benefits of tooth-colored fillings, simply contact any of our offices in Port Harcourt.

VENEERS

Veneers are partial-coverage restorative treatments, recommended to patients who want to improve their smile and enhance the esthetics of their front teeth. Fabricated from porcelain-like material, these tooth-coloured restorative options help correct the esthetics of malformed, discoloured, or chipped teeth. They can also be used in patients who want to improve the undesired gaps between their teeth.

DENTAL CROWNS

Crowns are used when damage is more extensive. If your cavity has affected more than 50% of the tooth, the tooth is broken, or the tooth has been treated with root canal therapy, we’ll place a crown, which is a tooth-shaped cap that completely covers your natural tooth. First, we’ll prepare your tooth, shaving away some of the enamel to make room for the crown. Then we’ll place your dental crown. This usually takes a couple of visits.

TOOTH REPLACEMENT

Missing teeth are a very common problem that can cause many issues for an otherwise healthy body. Eating, speaking, and even smiling can all be affected by tooth loss, drastically lowering someone’s quality of life. At Royal Smile Dental Clinic, however, our team is ready to provide you with a number of strong and reliable replacement options that can bring back any number of teeth for a lifetime to come.

DENTAL BRIDGE

BRIDGE is a procedure used to replace missing teeth. This fixed restoration is composed of the abutment teeth from each side of the gap and a prosthetic tooth, called a “pontic”, in the middle. The abutment teeth serve as anchors, holding the pontic, artificial tooth, in place. Bridge can be fabricated from either alloy, gold, porcelain, a combination of these materials or from Zirconia. Your doctor will discuss these various options in detail with you during your visit.
Dental bridge helps restore patients’ smiles, and helps them continue simple daily tasks that we often take for granted –chewing or speaking. They also preserve the natural positioning of dentition, preventing any unwanted movement of teeth.

FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION

Have you not been to the dentist for a very long time and have developed multiple dental problems? Or have you recently been in an accident where your teeth were damaged? Our team can put together a treatment plan to completely refresh your smile’s health, strength, and appearance all at the same time. Using multiple procedures all working together in harmony, we can make even the most compromised smile look and feel like new

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Why Must I Need a Root Canal Treatment?

The following are the most common causes of damage and infection to the pulp of the tooth in which a root canal treatment may be required:
• Injury to the tooth – such as a fall, or a severe hit to the mouth
• A crack in the tooth
• Severe tooth decay / A deep cavity
If the pulp of the tooth has been damaged and is left untreated for a long amount of time, the infection can spread to other parts of the mouth, it can destroy the surrounding bone and teeth, and can cause severe pain.

Root canal treatment is a procedure that is completed when damage or infection extends to the nerve of the tooth. In such cases, patients may experience variable tooth discomfort or pain, and a lingering sensitivity to cold. In root canal treatment, the damaged portion of the tooth is removed, the remaining space is cleaned, disinfected, replaced and then filled with a dental material.
Following root canal treatment, the tooth is then restored with a dental filling or crown for protection and resumption of normal tooth function and appearance.
